The Male Room - Sketch

Good morning!  I'm getting ready to head down to Florida for the Stampfest and this will the first one I attend.  I'm excited to see what this is all about.  But for now, we have another challenge for you at The Male Room.  For the next 2 weeks, we are looking for creations using the following sketch.

Remember, it has to be masculine.

Using the sketch, I created a card that could be used for a little boy.  The images are from Stampin' Up stamp set, Zoofari.  I try to use as many of the stamps to create this card.  In fact, I think this is the first time I've used this stamp set.  I colored the images with water and regular color pencils. Even though the dp is considered Halloween, I thought it looked great as part of a safari.

Here's the inside, using another stamp and copy the outside some.

I went ahead and put the bird stamp on the envelope.

thanks for looking and reading :o)  hope to see you getting sketchy.

stamps used: SU Zoofari
paper used: MFT primitive white, tangy organge, The Paper Studio Halloween Chevron, Bazzill charcoal gray and golden color paper
die-cuts used: MFT Square Stax 1 & Stax 2, Sentiment Strips
embellishments used: Making Memories antique copper brads

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog #32 -Holey Cardstock

Hello fellow crafters!  It's time for another challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog!!!  Holey Cardstock, yup we want to see holes in your cardstock. Create a punched or die cut opening for paper, image or sentiment to show through.

This challenge is being sponsored by DRS Designs.

The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate.  They have some amazing stamps...gotta check them out!

I got to work with the images Golf Icon and the sentiment Back Nine Birthday Greeting from DRS.  As you can see, I made a die cut hole for my image to show through.  (Now after seeing some of the other DT projects, I might have went a different route.)  There are a couple of layers that needed to be lined up with the opening.  Some clouds were added for that perfect day.  The golf ball is a sticker I had laying around.

Here's the inside.  I didn't like seeing the sentiment and cloud showing from the front, so adding some in the inside to give it a more finished look.

I colored the image with water and regular color pencils and kept it very simple.  Added a sentiment from Unity Stamp Co.

The front sentiment with some golf ribbon I found.

Hope to see your holey creations!

thanks for looking and reading :o)

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

The Male Room - Father's Day

We have another challenge for you at The Male Room!  Father's Day is approaching fast, so let's see your Father's Day creations.

I bet many kids have the memory of riding on their father's back.  What fun it was, when dad try to buck you off.  This cute image is from Unity Stamp Co, by Phyllis Harris called Thanks for Being Fun.  It was colored by water and regular color pencils.

After I made the card. I knew I wanted a ribbon on it and came across the key chain.  I can't believe my luck, the key chain was the same colors I used.  A bow with a hanging key chain was needed.

The inside:  sentiment is from the same stamp set.

thanks for looking and reading  :o)
Happy Father's Day to all you dads at there!!!

Welcome Baby

Our wonderful friends in the UK had another baby girl!!  It's fun to make something girlie.

Here's the welcome baby girl card I made for them and their new baby girl.  The digital image is from Sweet Pea Stamps - Mother and Baby Girl by Conie Fong.  I colored it with my water and regular color pencils.  I found the vintage paper at Hobby Lobby and match the rest of the solid papers to it.

Adding some pearls and flowers to make it girlie.  The corner dies remind me of a vintage style too.  Lots of layers were a must.

The inside has to match the outside, even to write a message.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog #31 - Mind Your Banners!!

I can't believe it's June already!!  My second born son will be graduating from High School on Thursday, so the house is getting busy with out-of-town guests.  I love when family comes to visit :o)

Let's get on with the challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog. For the next 2 weeks, we want you to "Mind Your Banners!!".  This should be an easy challenge for everyone, just look at the different DT inspiration.

As always with Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog, we have 2 wonderful sponsors for this challenge.

The winner of QKR Stampede is 5 images.

The winner of Bugaboo is 7 images.

How awesome of these sponsors!!

I got to work with Bugaboo image Bugaboo Brat-Liberty.  She is cute and I knew it would be pretty  easy to create a project with banners.  I also tried another bendy card since they are very easy to do and different.

I try to find some patriotic paper in my stash.  Good thing I had a couple!  The stripe is a discount paper I've been hoarding, as well as the BoBunny and Paper Studio.  I'm still using the 300 pieces of paper I got from a going out of business small shop from years ago, it's a good thing.  The stars are die-cuts with metal between two of them, then stuck on the first fold, hidden by paper over them.

I printed out the image twice, but reversed one of the images.  I needed it for the backside of the second bend fold.  Each star on the banners are die-cuts.  I know I could get really fancy with this card.  I could even find some embellishments to hide the slits, but I'm not for sure what I will do or if it really needs anything else.  I'll either write a message or find a sentiment for the back part.

thanks for looking and reading :o)  Hope to see your banners in the challenge!
