Friends with Flair - Birthday Tag

It's Friday and we have been celebrating the wonderful husband's birthday today!!  He's 45,sshhh, I'm sure he wouldn't want everyone to know his age, and looking just fine :o)  We ran around today doing all the things he wanted to do.

I made a tag for one of his gifts using an Unity stamp so I could enter Friends with Flair.

For the dp I used some of the leftover wrapping paper, which was handmade from India, from World Market.  Since he loves photography, I used Unity's itty bitty Photos stamp for the image on his tag.  Yes, I cut off the word photos.

I took a heat gun to the ribbon to make it all wrinkled and put a brad through it to hold it in place.  Of course it had to have some film strips.

Here it is on the gift.  Hope you all have a great weekend!!

thanks for looking and reading :o)

paper used: Handmade gift paper, scraps

embellishments: Ribbon, Tim Holtz brads, film strip and mini gears, 3-D glossy, Stickles black (won from my blog friend Julie from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers)

Tuesday Teapotters - Outdoor in PA

This week the Teapotters are traveling to PA to send smiles to David.  He was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer two years ago and has ungone several rounds of chemo.  It has showed up in major organs and now it's in his brain.  You can also join the Teapotters to send smiles and big hugs to poeple who need them. David enjoys the outdoors, we have an outdoor theme for him this week.  Here's the inspirational teapot:

Here's David's card:

I decided to use Fred Bear from MFT.  (It's sad they retired this line, I love Fred bear.)  He's going for a hike with a friend.  I placed netted ribbon from Ribbon Carousel on the bottom and layered some grass on top of the ribbon.

I used a word band from Tim Holtz collection to place on the bottom.  I thought it was a great sentiment.  As you can see, I popped up the image.

Inside the card I stamped Fred Bear and his friend peeking.

thanks for looking and rading :o)

paper used: Bo-Bunny Rust Dots, Brazzill, Discount and scraps

Cut It Out - 21st Birthday

Another great challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog!  Challenge #4 Cut It Out, that means get out the die-cuts and punches for this challenge.  We are being sponsor by Sassy Studio Design and they are giving the winner 4 images.  You have until April 27th to upload your Cut it Out project.

For my card I used the Seize the Birthday Sketch #13 Masculine Birthday

Here's my take on the sketch: On the side

I thought this image would be perfect for a 21st birthday for any guy.  A drink and a gal, what else do they need!!  I used two oval stax, a fishtail, squiggle, and some number die-cuts for the challenge.  I used white embossing powder for the happy birthday sentiment.

I made sure it was a foaming drink, by using white writer's paint.  I colored the image with watercolor pencils and regular color pencils.  I hope you will join us for our challenge.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

Another Classy Birthday Card

Here's the other classy birthday card I was talking about.  Just in case you didn't see the inspiration photo, here it is:

Just elegant and gorgeous!

Here's my other card:

The designer paper are very similar, but they are different.  A little different approach on this card.  I guess this is more of a sexy bombshell.  Her mother was a model in her youth.  The blue eyeshadow with really red lips just seemed perfect for this image.

The card with the matching envelope.

My favorite to do is coloring my image with watercolor pencils and color pencils.  Added the feathers to the side of the image giving it a little sexiness.

Classy Birthday

My brother's better half needed a card for her mother's 70th birthday.  She was doing a classy surprise party for her mother.  She sent me a picture of the room that inspired her mom's party and I created a card base off the pic.  Actually I created two cards.  I'll post the other card later.
Here's the inspirational picture:

Here's one of the cards.

I found black sequin ribbon that match the sequin tablecloth.  Fushcia (hot pink) and black were the main colors.

The pink cardstock behind the image was sprayed with SmoochSpritz Vanilla Shimmer.  I added a few rhinestone for some bling.  A box was needed to fit the card in because of the flowers.  So I created a box to match the card and closed it with a ribbon.  Next time I would make a matchbox card holder.

Close up of the shimmering spritz and a few of the rhinestones.  I colored the image with color pencils.

Tuesday Teapotters - Going British

This week the Teapotters are traveling to FL to visit with Pat who suffered from 2nd degree burns.  The Teapotters are bringing a British invasion.  My husband and I traveled to England in 2009 and loved it.  We are planning on going back.  Here's the inspiration teapot:

Here's my British Card:

Yuupp!!  I used one of our photos from our trip for the card.  The Eye with Big Ben in the background I thought was a neat picture.  The call box and sentiment is from Unity KOM February 2013.  I'm also sending a couple of more pics to Pat.

Since gardens are a part of England I'm includung a picture taken at Cheddar Gorge.  This was in the center of town off to the side where a river ran under the street and in front of this cottage.  The name of the town speaks for itself, they made cheese by hand here.  We were cheesed out by the end of the day.

The second picture I'm sending was taken in Bath.  This was a night shot of the Pulteney Bridge.  We had so many great pictures it was hard to decide.  Hopefully Pat will enjoy these.

stamps used: Unity KOM Feb 2013

die-cuts: MFT trio clouds

embellishments: making memories passport

You're "Fairy" Special

I love to do sketches and Bugaboo had another sketch to try.  I won the last one (beginner's luck), so I'm trying again.  This time I'm using Ava Fairy Special digi stamp for the Sketch Challenge.  Here's the sketch:

gotta love stella

Here's my take on the sketch:

I tend to make my images bigger.  I like people to see the images and I don't want too much dead space.  Trying to use earthly tones for my fairy.  I also used lots of sparkles for my fairy.  I colored the images in with water color pencils and regular color pencils.

Lots of Stickles were used and some Liquid Pearls.

I'm entering the following challenges:

paper used: SU Razzleberry, The Paper Company Ecore Spring Green, Scraps

die-cuts used: MFT Jumbo Fishtail Banner Stax, MFT Sentiment Strips, MFT Star Stax

Birthday with Flair

It's Friday and Unity Friends with Flair !!  I decided to use the Seize the Birthday sketch challenge.  I love sketch challenges.

Here's my take on the sketch:

Not totally happy with it, but it is, what it is.  Must be a lack of mojo today.  Anyway, I used the Unity Hooray it's your Birthday Stamp and colored it in.  Added the stickles and some rhinestones for a little bling.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!  thanks for looking and reading :o)

Tuesday Teapotters - Garden

This week the Teapotters are traveling to AR for Mr Donnie.  He has Muscle Degenerative Disease and it keeps him from his garden, so the Teapotters are sending him a garden of smiles. Here's the inspiration teapot:

I didn't have a whole lot of choices with garden stamps. I had some corn, pumpkins and apples.  I went with the corn, being from IL I've seen some corn.  I haven't had a whole lot of time to participate in my Teapotters, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't out too long, so this was a quick card for Mr Donnie.

Love to Scrap Challenge - Recipe

It's hard to believe we are starting our third challenge already at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.  The challenge is a recipe, 3 layers (base + 2 more, 2 patterened papers, 1 image (I think it's been modified to allow more than 3 layers)).  Our sponsor for this challenge is A Day for Daisies.  They have great images, in fact I bought a couple images from them and made some classy cards, which I will post later (after the birthday girl receives her cards first).  A Day for Daisies will give the winner of this challenge $12 gift certificate to their shop.

I'm using the image Waiting for my projects.  Yes, I said projects.  I couldn't help myself with the possibilities of this image.

Thought this would be great for a baby shower.  Here's the all blue, bag, tag and card.  I didn't stop there......

I had to have a pink bag.

And a neutral bag was needed too.

I'll probably make a tag and card for the pink and neutral bags.  I like to have a complete set.  I know I'm bad.

I hope you will join us for our challenge.
