I used River City Rubber Works image Gas Station.  They have both rubber and digital in this image.  
For this challenge I decided to do an altered sketchbook.  Even though the book was a hardcover, I still covered it with designer paper.  Of course it wouldn't be manly without some metal...lots of metal pieces.  The clip on top is hanging by twine and connected underneath dp on the inside of the cover.  I thought it would be better not to fix it on the front, but to dangle.  I colored the image using my Prismacolor pencils.

Scrapping4fun #45 Anything Goes

Welcome to another challenge at Scrapping4fun!  For the next 2 weeks Anything Goes :o)  How easy as our summers our getting hectic here.  Can't wait to see your beautiful creations.





I started off with this image Octavia Friendly Hugs from Polkadoodles.  This was part of the Create & Learn monthly class from Kit & Clowder. This was April's pencil class where we learn how to do scenery(I didn't get the class until May10th, they run 15th to 15th of the months).  Because the image was 10.5 cm tall plus room for the scenery, it was a big image.  I needed to do something with it, because it was a lot of hard work.


I decided to put the image on a sketchbook.  Of course it had to be an altered sketchbook.  I didn't get too heavy with embellishments because I wanted the image to take center stage.


A couple of charms were added to the side binder.  A key with "dreams" on it and a dragonfly charm that seem suitable with the scenery.   Lots of ribbon, lace and twine was needed to hide some of the binder.   Now I have to start using the sketchbook ;o)

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog #56 Anything Goes

Hello fellow crafters!  Thank you for visiting and leaving such sweet comments on my blog.  Always puts a smile on my face :o)

Are you ready for another challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog?  It's a crowd favorite....Anything Goes!  There still needs to be some stamping, either rubber and/or digital on your project.

For this challenge I worked with Doodle Pantry's image Asian Garden.  After coloring the image, I was told it needed to be framed.  So I kinda did that.  (It was hard to get a great picture due to the reflection I was getting from the frame.)  A Tim Holtz burlap panel was used for the background.  I added metal corner pieces, a ribbon with a charm and hammered some tacks to hang some clips.  I figured the clips could be used to hang other projects or words of wisdom.  I used the sentiment that came with the stamp set.  The sentiment and image can be changed out if needed.  The frame is magnetic and the sentiment has velcro on the back.

Here's the image right before I put it into a frame. 

I used 27 pencils for the leaves alone.  Yes, this image took me several days to get it just right and colored in general.  I'm very pleased with the way it turned out and the rich colors.

Scrapping4Fun #44 Birthday

I just want to thank everyone for their wonderful and beautiful comments, they always make my day.  Thank you crafty friends :o)

I hope you are ready for another challenge at Scrapping4fun.  I'm sure birthdays are one of the most made cards and crafts out there.  So for the next 2 weeks.....share your birthday projects with us.

Here's the inspiration pic.  It's so cute!


With such a cute inspiration pic, I had to use a cute image.  The image is from MFT (My Favorite Things) called Cupcake Cutie.  I colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils.  Then decided to layer it up and make it girlie and cute.

Another Graduation

Seems like every year someone's kid or mine is graduating.  Man, I'm getting old...lol.  Not like you haven't seen enough graduation cards flying around blogland lately....now I'm posting one.  I hope you can bare through one more :o)


I used Saturated Canary image Grad Girl 2015, because she looked spunky.  The young lady this card is going to is smart and spunky.  


I did a side step card.  I'm not a huge fan of these cards.  I guess it's because I like bigger images and I have to figure out all the measurements myself to get it to come out correctly.  The "2015" numbers have wire going through them.  I die-cut the numbers twice so I could place the wire in between the numbers. 


The young lady has dirty blonde hair with red on the ends.  So I had to color it correctly with my Prismacolor pencils.

Saturated Canary with Pencils

I'm excited to finally share another project from my Perfecting Pencil class from Kit and Clowder.  Since I color with color pencils, I decided to take the plunge and see if I would learn anything new about coloring.  My mind was blown away with what could be done.  Blending colors I wouldn't normal blend for the skin alone.  I'm now taking the Create and Learn monthly class, because I love learning.  They work on a different techniques every month.  I'll be sharing those projects soon.  By the way, Alyce is wonderful and passionate about her classes!  She wants to help you learn.


Here's the 3rd project from the online class.  The image is On My Heart by Saturated Canary.  I love black hair, but it always confused me on how to color it beautifully.  Not anymore :o)  There are 9 colors for the skin, 3 for the cheeks, 3 for the eyes, and 3 for the lips, for a total of 18 colors on the face alone.  Yes, each face project will have that many colors.  I'm still learning, but I love how this image turned out. 


I'm not the type of person who uses several different dps, but I did.  The 3 design papers used are Whimsy Romance by M R Designs.  There are 8 digital sheets and they look great together.  Alyce shows you how to finish your projects in this class.  I used the dp mentioned, but used my flowers and other embellishments from my stash.  You have the option to buy the embellishments to finish the project exactly the way it is in the tutorial, but I needed to use my stash and go a little in my own route. The lace is almost 20 years old.  I also finally got some Frantage to try.

3 Girl Jam = Guest Designing

I'm SO excited to be guest designing for 3 Girl Jam !!!  They have beautiful ribbon and some other little things, so you check them out!  


 This is also my first ever guest design posting, I feel very lucky :o)  I also did 2 projects.


My first project is a bottle tag that I made for my son's girlfriend.  She turned 21 and she is a dancer.  The image is from Just Ink Lined called Ballet Pointe.  I colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils.  


Here's a pic in better daylight.  I used the 3 Girl Jam Victorian Dream ribbon bundle and wrapped a brad around the ribbon.  I love that the ribbon has texture to it and no heat gun is needed to achieve this look.  Their ribbon is rich looking and just beautiful.


For my second project I used the 3 Girl Jam Seasonal bundle ribbon and 3 Girl Jam Vintage Buttons.  Yes, all 3 buttons were in my bag and they matched perfectly.  I have used quite a few buttons already.  The image is from Greeting Farm called Cordelia and was colored with my Prismacolor pencils.  In fact, this image was one of the images from my Kit and Clowder online class Perfecting Pencils that we learned how to color.

I got to work with the digital stamp set Airplanes by Imagine That! digis by Kris.  I colored the cute image with my Prismacolor pencils.  The cloud background paper was one of the set images that I just printed on blue paper.  The paper airplane background I took the pre-colored images in the set and place them randomly around in photoshop.  When looking up the set for this blog post, I realized there is digital paper pack to buy with this set...the paper airplane background is in that paper set.  So...to save yourself time, you could just buy the paper bundle...lol.  Here, I thought I was being clever :oP
