The Male Room - Stars

Welcome to another challenge at The Male Room!  For the next 2 weeks, we want to see "Stars" on your masculine projects.

I used this cute image from Bugaboo.  As you can see the image has stars.  Then I used star die-cuts and there are tiny stars in the dp, I think I got the star part down.  I colored the image with water and regular color pencils.  Added some Stickles to the stars in the image, just because stars need to sparkle.  The layout is from the current sketch challenge at Bugaboo.

Here's the inside.

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog - #36 Anything Goes

Good morning and welcome to another challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog. For the next 2 weeks we have made it easy for you, because it's Anything Goes!  As always your creations must have a stamp rubber image and/or sentiment on it, no digis this time.

We are being sponsored by Heartfelt Creations.  They have some beautiful stamps!

The winner of this challenge will receive a $25 gift certificate.

When I first saw this challenge and knew we could use any rubber stamp we had, I thought I had it pegged.  At the last minute, I changed my mind and total creation.  I decided to go with the stamp by SWALK called Friendship.  I have a gf who has been feeling down and we've been friends for 36+ years.  We don't get to talk much because we live so far away from each other now, but she's like a sister to me.  When coloring the image with my water and regular color pencils, I could remember all the fun we had growing up across the street from each other.

I wanted an unique card, so I tried my hand at a circle side-step card.  It becomes difficult when cutting out pieces and parts of circles for this card.  I was quite happy to use the die-cuts when I could.  Just some flowers, lace and a metal bracket was added for embellishments.

Here's the back of the card, you can see, it's a complete circle.  I did add a half circle and the back to write a little something to my friend.

70th Birthday Wishes

Today I'm sharing my MIL's 70th b-day card.  Usually I send tennis cards, because she plays tennis, but this year I wanted something different and a different fold.

I went with a cute little girl.  The image is Doodle Garden Springtime wishes from MFT (which My Favorite Things no longer sells Doodle Garden stamps, who knew).  I even looked in the Doodle Garden shop and this image is not there, but she does have other cuties in her shop.

For a different kind of fold, I went with the gate fold.  I found some instructions for this fold, but it was for a tiny card.  My image was much bigger, in fact, it was bigger than the tiny card.  So, by the third time (and lots of measuring), I custom my own gate fold to the size I needed, to fit the image that was already done.
I added three yellow flowers for the 3 flowers she had in her hand.  Lots of pearls were needed and a sentiment.  Using watercolor and regular pencils to color in my image, lots of time. I say LOTS of times, because the image is layered and that also meant LOTS of cutting.  Even though I stamped the image 7 times, sometimes only certain parts were colored and cutout.  The flowers, shoes, hair, bow, each layer of the dress, and sleeves are pieced on top of a bottom layer of the original image.

Here is the inside of the card.  I wanted to make sure everything was decorated.  The center was left opened to write a little something and the kids had plenty of room to write their names.

The image on this side is from Unity, Candles & Cake.

On this side I used MFT Birthday Sentiments and MFT die-cuts.

The Male Room-Make PINK Masculine

Hello "HumpDay" and another challenge from The Male Room.  For the next 2 weeks we would like for your creations to make PINK masculine. The pink is the new black kinda of thing, but manly.  Make sure you check out the DT inspirational creations.

I used the image Hell for Leather by Just Inklined.  You can always make a cool racing dude look good in pink.  Using my water color and regular color pencils to the color the image just right.  I did add some other colors, because pink can't look good alone.

As you can tell from the picture, some glossy accents were added to the goggles and windshield.  I like the glass look it gives to images.

What guy wouldn't want a license plate that said this!  The sentiment came from Unity Stamp Co called Boys Rule.  Brads were added in the appropriate places.

Here's the inside.

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog - #35 Running in Circles

Good Grief !! It's August already!  Welcome to another challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.  For the next 2 weeks we want to see circles in your creations. You can use a punch, die-cut, hand drawn, or just part of your paper, but we want some circles.

For this challenge we have 2 wonderful sponsors.

The winner for Lacy Sunshine Stamps will receive 3 images of choice.

The winner for Scribbles Designs will receive 3 images of choice.

For this challenge I used the image Birthday Cake Slice from Scribbles Designs, which is a free image.  So, grab it while you can.  I colored the digi image with my water color and regular color pencils.  As you can see, I made sure I was within the circle theme using die-cuts, paper, brads, and ribbon with circles.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co, which is also in a circle.

Always making sure I decorate the inside before putting up my papers. I used another Unity sentiment for the inside.
