Scrapping4fun - #34 All About Love

Welcome to another wonderful challenge at Scrapping4fun.  For the next couple of weeks, we want to see projects that are all about Love.

For this challenge I used a wooden heart shape box, that I saved from someone throwing it away.  They didn't have a need for it, but I knew I couldn't let it go to waste.

It's very cute and can hold little things inside.

The first thing I did was to paint it.  I thought about red and pink, but burgundy seemed like a rich deep color of love.  Then the pain staking challenge of glueing each flower on the front of the box and trying to keep the heart shape.

In the center of all the flowers is a button that simply says love.

On each side I glued heart shaped lace that I've had since 2001.

On that back of the box, I tied a little tag.  The tag was a freebie from Unity Stamps from one of my orders.  I also used the heart shaped buttons and charm that came with it.   I stamped the word love on the tag.  If I didn't have the word Love enough on my project, the charm even says "made with love".

The other side of the tag.

Lots of lace of fibers were used on the tag.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

I think my son can use this to give to his girl with extra goodies for when she is studying.

I would like to enter this love box in the following challenges:

stamp used:  Unity Stamps Love
embellishments used: Recollections floral, K&Company Valentine baubles, EK adornaments fun fibers, jute, lace, Really Reason Ribbon lace, Free from Unity tag, charm and buttons

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog #46 Anything Goes

I'm loving this warm weather in January, it's 60 today and beautiful.  I know you will love our next challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog, it's Anything Goes.  Remember we like to see stamping (rubber, clear or digital) on your projects.

If the "Anything Goes" theme is not enough, we also have 3 wonderful sponsors for this challenge. Now, that's amazing :o)

Not only is this sponsor giving the winner 3 images, but is also offering 30% off to any participant that wants to purchase the same DT image that was used for this challenge.

The winner will recieve a $25 gift certificate.

Another great favorite, the winner will recieve 7 images.

All our sponsors are fabulous and generous.  Thank you sponsors :o)

I got to work with River City Rubber Works.  They were generous in allowing me to work with the digital set, Hopping Set.  There was such a great variety in this set that I decided to do 3 cards to show off some of the images.  (There are still more to work with, if you can image that.)

Every image you have a choice in coloring yourself or using their precolored image.  I colored the images with my watercolor and regular color pencils.  My first card, I couldn't resist the bunnies and made a Easter card.  Both of the sentiments come with the set and the carrots.

Here's the inside.

Next, I used the crow images.  I thought this could be a cute card to write home about what's going on, especially with the sentiment I have choosen.

Here's the inside Something to Crow About card.

The last card is this cute little frog.  I couldn't say no to the frog...and the funny sentiment.

He might become an invite to some friends to come over for dinner.....lol.

Here's the inside of Taste Like Chicken.

Hopefully this set has inspired you and remember there are a lot more images and sentiments I didn't create with.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

Scrapping4fun Big DT Challenge

I've have never participated in a Design Team Challenge among design teams members only, so I'm excited about this!!   I decided on creating the card book holder I've been wanting to do for a year now.  The book will contain two pages for each month.  On one side will contain a pocket or pockets to hold cards for birthdays, anniversaries or whatever comes by that month.  For now, I created the outside cover of this book for this challenge at Scrapping4fun.

Greens are my favorite color, so that's the colors a decided to create the outer book.

Here's the sketch  for our challenge.

I love the flowers blooming in the spring, that 's why I used a Spring image.  The image is from Bugaboo-Scene It Rain Boot Bugs.   I used my watercolor and regular color pencils to color the image.  Some Stickles for a couple of the bugs wings was used.  Of course, Glossy 3d for the rain drops, because it wouldn't look real without it.

I painted a little bit of white of the cardboard.  I used one fabric metal brad and one wooden button for the 2 buttons on the sketch.   Decided to bring in more of the yellow from the rain boot for the sentiment. Teal and green staples to tack it down.  I had these dragonfly charms I got from an artisan store and decided to string one under the sentiment.

Last, a banner was needed.  I thought about using my initials, but went with what the book was for.  This is just in case I end up giving the book away.  I do that sometimes.  I had to string another dragonfly to the banner because I like dragonflies, butterflies and lady bugs are okay too.

Here's the blank album pieces I'm using for this book.

thanks for looking and reading :o)  Good luck to everyone!!

stamps used: Bugaboo Stamps-Scene It Rain Boot Bugs, MFT Pucker Up (sentiment)

Scrapping4fun Guest Design Big Challenge

This card is for the Scrapping4fun Guest Design Big Challenge.  This is the first time I have participated in a challenge like this, so it should be fun.

I have a hard time keeping sympathy cards around.  This one is for my stash.

Here's the sketch we were given.

I picked my images out first.  After I cut them out and started to put my design together, I realized how big they were.  This card ended up being bigger than plan...lol, 7x6.  I made it work.  Butterflies and metal corner pieces were added to add a little to the design.

I colored the tulip image with my watercolor and regular color pencils.  Then fussy cut the image out.

I stamped this image twice.  Once in black ink and then in this plum that I used.  The black just stuck out like a sore thumb.  I then added bling where the little circles were in the design.  The sentiment with a butterfly was added.

I did stamp this tree twice, just like the effect it had.  Since I didn't have a die-cut or punch for the outer circle.  I used a big circle die-cut and used fancy scissors to cut around the outside.  Yes, I kinda went old fashion by doing it that way.

Here's the inside.

thanks for looking and reading :o)  Good Luck to all the designers !!

This card cannot be entered in other challenges.  It is strictly for Scrapping4fun Big Guest Design Team Challenge :o)

Scrapping4Fun - #33 Birthday

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone is staying warm.  It got a bit chilly here today, 12 degrees early this morning, which is freezing in the south...lol.  I'm from Illinois originally, but I don't handle the cold as well as I use to.  I've been down south too long.

Well, we have a great challenge for you at Scrapping4fun!  We want to see Birthday projects from our crafty friends for the next 2 weeks.  I will admit, I made a card and was not happy with it, so I made another.

Here's the little birthday card I made.  I bought this image last year from Crafter's Companion, it's called Cherry on Top from Angelica & Adam Collection.  It's a cute little collection! I tried to go with a flower theme since there were flowers on the cupcake wrapper.  The little lace even looks to have flowers too.

I colored the image with water and regular color pencils.  With all that pink, it makes it look very girly.

Here's the inside of the card.

I thought I would share the first card I made.  The one I'm not overly thrilled about.  There's just something about it, just doesn't seem right.  Maybe I'm being over picky...lol.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

For my first challenge this year, I went with something fun.  I got to work with the image from Eat Cake Graphics called J Go Kitty Go.  I thought this was a fun image to work with.  The image was colored with watercolor and regular color pencils.  I wanted the card to be full of colors.

As you can see from this angle, I 3D the image.  I stamped it 3 times for the layers.  The first image for the tail, second for the body and front paws and the third for the head and back paws.

The inside of the card...just added a little humor to it.

What initials did I used...all of them.  (i'm pretty sure the whole DT did)
