Is That Me??

Hello fellow crafty friends!  My post today, is another coloring page that I absolutely love.  I love vintage and who doesn't love pin-up girls.  I decided to take a "No Lines, Realistic" coloring class from artist Christopher Kerry.  No lines can be kinda of scary, specially if you are use to stamp and digital images having that nice black line to follow.  I love this technique and I'm hoping to use it some more in the future.

Christopher redrew the image "Your Choice (Me)" by original artist Mr Gil Elvgren.  He explains in his class why this is not a copyright infringement.  Christopher made it his own image by adding the painting dog.  If you listening to the videos...Christopher is the painting dog :o)

He teaches the class with copics markers, but there is a conversion chart for pencils and other type of markers.  You could just follow the step-by-step guide booklet to do this image, but listen to the videos.  Christopher gives the hows and whys to coloring and being an artist, and adds some little stories here and there.

I colored this image (and background) with my Prismacolor pencils.  I didn't add the white gouache that Christopher does for his images.  It's all about being yourself.

Isn't the dog a cutie with his little hat on :o)

I really think this is a technique that all colorists or crafters coloring in images need to put in their "tool boxes".    Even though the video is for this one beautiful image, if you crave more pinups, Christopher does offer pinups with puppy dogs pages to color for the no lines technique.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

Have a great weekend!

Ooh la la! This is wonderful, Tina! Christopher is quite the artist! And you're quite the colorer! Her sheer negligee is very realistic! ;)
