Mix It Up! Challenge Blog #8: Flap Fold Christmas

Hello crafty friends!    I have 3 posts for you today!  Enjoy the inspiration :o)

In this post I'm sharing my card for Mix It Up! Challenge Blog, this month's challenge is all about the "Fancy Fold".

I'm not big on some "Fancy Fold" cards, mainly because I want the card to be able to stand on their own.  There are a lot of folds, that don't allow the cards to stand and I picked one of those to do for this post.  I went through my Pinterest folder of cards saved to see what I liked.  The Flap Fold card stood out and I wanted to give it a go.  There are several tutorials out there on blogland, so just watch a couple and make it your own.  The couple I watched, the punch on top was mainly off to one side, but I wanted mine in the middle.  Instead of using a punch (this is why they were off center), I used a die-cut, so I could center it.

The center punch is big enough where the tab will not hit it when opening and closing.  The snowman image from A Day For Daisies called Mr Snowman, is popped up, so it can be used as a tab to hold the front flap down (my snowman was a tad too tall, but it works).  He was also colored with Prismacolor pencils.

Here's the inside.  Hopefully you will give your cards a new fold or 2.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:

stamps: A Day For Daisies: Mr. Snowman, Stampin' Up: Four the Holidays & Snow Swirled
paper: the Paper Studio: white, Merry Christmas words, Bo Bunny: Noel Ornaments
die-cuts: MFT: drifts, SU: punch 1 3/8 circle, scallop
embellishment: embossing powder: pewter

Great combination of the sweet snowman, patterned paper, and repeated sentiment panel for this fancy-fold card! I agree, the card needs to complement the design, and yours really does. Thanks for joining us at Naughty or Nice Challenges!
