The Male Room - Geometric

It's time for another challenge at The Male Room!  For the next 2 weeks we want to see masculine projects that fit the challenge Geometric. Yup, that would be a fancy word for shapes..lol.  Get out some of those fancy die-cuts and fancy stamps with lots of shapes.

I thought this sentiment was so true of grandpas, just makes you giggle.  I added an eyelet to the banner (I guess you can call it a tag now), so I could add some fiber and burlap thread.  The fiber seems "prickly" to me.

I found this rubber stamp over at Crafter's Companion, called Prickly by SWALK.  (Even though I just got it about a month ago, I can't find that company on their website anymore.)  The image was colored with my water and regular color pencils.  I even versa mark some hexagons from the Unity KOM stamp set.  Some ribbon and brads were added to finish the card.

Here's the inside.  I stamped the cute little hedgehog again and added the prickly fiber inside. I didn't stamp a sentiment inside yet, because I'm trying to decided Father's Day, Grandparents Day or Birthday for the granddads.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

i would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

stamps used: S.W.A.L.K. Prickly, Unity KOM (kit of the month) June 2012
paper used: Bazzill, Recollections handmade
die-cuts used: MFT Hexagon Stax, Fishtail Flag Stax

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog-#34 Scheming Crafters!

It's time for another challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.  For the next 2 weeks we want to see a specific color scheme in your creation.  It can be neutrals, monochromatic, duo, ombre, holidays or even seasons.  Should be easy :o)

We have 2 wonderful sponsors for this challenge...that means 2 winners.

The winner of Fred, She Said Designs will receive $10 gift certificate.

The winner of Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet will receive $10 gift certificate.
Pretty awesome!

For this challenge I got to work with the digital image Apple for the Teacher from Fred, She Said.  No other color scheme would do for a teacher, but red and white (my old school colors).  I really love the sentiment that came with the image.  The image was colored with my water color and regular color pencils.  Added the measuring tape ribbon and a metal ABC embellishment to finish up the card.

Hope to see you in the challenge!

Happy 18th Birthday Mermaid

Today I'm sharing a card that I made for my "daughter".  She just turned 18 and loves mermaids and cats.

I fell in love with this digi image from Sweet Pea Stamps, Ocean Fantasy by artist Ching Chou Kuik.

After I found out, by her mother, she tried to dye some of her blonde hair turquoise, I knew what colors to use.  I could have made all the hair turquoise/blue color, but I wanted to have her blonde hair.  Burlap and some fiber was added behind the image.  On the corner die-cut, rhinestones were added.

I made sure the scales had glitter on them.  Added some shells, because I knew I wasn't going to mail it, from a beach trip long ago.  Of course some pearls needed to be added to complete the ocean theme.  The sentiment was stamped on some die-cut waves and flock added to the tops of the waves.

Here's the simple inside.  I ended up stamping Happy 18th Birthday.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

The Male Room - Games

It's time for another challenge at The Male Room.  For the next 2 weeks we are looking for projects that are masculine for games that guys would play.  It could be sports, bingo, chess, etc., just look at the DT for inspiration.

I had a couple of ideas in mind for this challenge, but this cute little baseball player was yelling to be stamped.  The image and sentiment is from MFT (My Favorite Things) called Baseball Boy (this stamp just retired).  I've been hoarding the baseball paper for awhile, it's from my discount pile I'm still working on.

Here's a close up of this cute ball player.

I used one of the sentiments from the set.  The little baseball bat has been around forever.  I'm thinking one of my older boys wanted it for a project back in 2002-2003 and never used it, but I did :o)

Here's the inside.  I used a sentiment from Unity Stamp Co.  I couldn't really decided on what stamp to use, but every boy dreams of making it in the big leagues.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

stamps used: MFT Baseball Boy, Unity Let Your Inner Beauty Shine
paper used: SU gray, MFT Grout Gray and Wild Cherry, the Paper Studio Baseballs
die-cuts used: MFT Circle Stax 1 & Stax 2, Fishtail Flag Stax
embellishments: SU Buttons?, baseball bat

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog #33 - Anything Goes

Good morning Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog followers!  The year is already half over, it's sad and hard to believe!  Where do the days go?
We do have a favorite challenge going on at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog....Anything Goes! Remember, we like to see stamped rubber/digi images or sentiments on your projects.

Once again we have 2 sponsors, so that means 2 winners for this challenge.

The winner for A Day for Daisies will receive a $12 gift certificate (equal to 3 images).

The winner for Eureka Stamps will receive 5 images of choice.
What awesome sponsors we have! :o)

I got to work with the image Tender Thoughts by A Day of Daisies.  This is such a sweet image!  I colored it with water color and regular color pencils.  I made one of the butterflies a light purple-blue color, they are my favorite.  They are tiny and plain, but they are my favorite to see in the summer.  I used a butterfly brad to wrap around the thick ribbon.  Some yellow flowers and rhinestones were added for a little more embellishment.

Here's the inside.  I think I might add a scripture or a prayer inside this card...seems fitting.

thanks for looking and reading :o)
