Happy Anniversary!!

Hello crafters!  I usually miss Friends with Flair at Unity, because I post before Friday.  I have A LOT of Unity stamps and use them quite often.

Anyway, around 930pm I was getting ready for bed and my son's girlfriend came walking in asking if I had an Anniversary card (this was last weekend).  Her parents 25th Wedding Anniversary was the next day.  Looking through my stash, I had none.  So... she picked out the images she wanted and the colors.  I had until 3 the next day to get a card made.  Which is fast for me, I kinda work slow nowadays because I'm a bit of a perfectionist sometimes.

She had to have the cute image Milk & Cookies on the front.   She loved the sentiment that came with the image, so it was used for the front of the card. I colored the image with my colored pencils.  As you can see, black and silver were the colors for this Anniversary.

She chose a sheer silver ribbon.  I added a heart brad with a little charm, which says "Love".  You can see in the above picture, I added a few more heart brads.

Here's the inside.  She thought these little monsters were adorable.  They are from the stamp set Nicest Place to Be.  The Happy Anniversary sentiment is from Stamping Up.

They loved it SO much, they framed it.  It's the simple things....

thanks for looking and reading :o)

Scrapping4fun - #47

Hello fellow crafters!  I enjoyed seeing all your wonderful projects in our last challenge at Scrapping4Fun.  It's always amazes me the talent that is out in blogland.  I hope you are ready for another challenge, it's Anything Goes + Music Notes/Instruments.

Having a music background, I love anything music.

I know it's hard to believe, but I did a very simple note card.  Very simple. I realized I have zero notes cards left in my stash and some were needed.  I used white ink from Martha Stewart to stamp the violin and Versamark to do the music notes.  Then, I just distressed the paper edges.  I always wanted to learn how to play the violin, but got stuck with woodwinds.  Violins were not in schools bands, but I loved learning different woodwinds growing up.

I hope to see you in the challenge.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

stamps: MFT IB Music (this is a retired stamp)
paper used: the Paper Studio kraft & ivory

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog #58 Anything Goes

Hello fellow crafters :o)  It's been really hot here and this week is not any better with temperatures in the 100s.  Sounds like more time to be inside and stay cool.  Once again, I want to thank all you for your sweet comments on the last challenge.

I hope you are ready for another challenge at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.  For the next 2 weeks it's Anything Goes, but remember you still need some stamping on your project, either rubber, clear or digital.  We will have 3 winners, because we have 3 wonderful sponsors.

The winner will receive a $12 gift certificate.

The winner will receive a $10 gist certificate.

The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate.

Thank you to all our wonderful sponsors :o)

For this challenge I used the image Greek House 2 from Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet.  I love this scenery image and it was fun to color with my color pencils. The map behind the image was a bus map I had from my visit to Greece, but it was bright with colors.  So it didn't compete with the image I decided to copy the map and make it black and white.  I finish the inside, but my camera didn't want to focus on my blank white cardstock (it looks like the front, but without the image).

Ready for a couple of Greece pics.  We went to Greece in 2010 for a dear friend's wedding.  It was at the end of August and it was HOT!  A Greek wedding is fabulous to attend at least once in a lifetime. It is one that I will never forget. Wedding bus picked us up at 4pm, wedding at 6ish-7ish, dinner served at midnight, lots of dancing, and the bus took us back to the hotel around 4:30am.

Here is Athens, Greece from the top of Filopappou Hill.

The Parthenon at night from our hotel.  We had The Temple of Zeus right outside our window.

Yes, I was 32 weeks pregnant with my 4th boy.  It didn't slow me down climbing up all those hills to see everything. People there really thought I needed to be in bed resting, but I couldn't with SO much to see.  Besides I needed to eat some of that great food :oP  There are hundreds of pics, but can't put them all in one blog post.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

I like to enter my card in the following challenges:

stamp uesd: Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet - by IKEs Art Greek House 2

Pencil Class

Hello fellow crafters :o)  I'm finally getting around to posting the first image I colored in my online color pencil class from Kit & Clowder.  I know I kinda went backwards.

I colored this image with Prismacolor Pencils.  The class gives you a list of colors to use.  All you do is watch the video and color with Alyce.  It's lots of layers and building up slowly.  The image is from Ppinky Doll Stamps called Alyce Love.  When making a card I usually don't get all frilly, but since taking this class, I've learned to like it a little bit more.  There are 5 layers, plus image layer of distressed paper, lots of lace and flowers.  In the class videos Alyce shows you how to finish your projects.  She is an amazing teacher and will give you feedback on her class website.   I really enjoyed learning how to use my pencils my creatively, blending much better and learning the correct techniques.

Here's the inside.  The inside sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

stamps used: Ppinky Dolls - Alyce Love (digital), MFT (clear stamp)
paper used: MR Designs-Whimsy Romance, Bazzill

Scrapping4fun #46 Summer/Winter

Thank you for all the lovely comments :o)

I hope you are ready for another challenge at Scrapping4fun!  For the next 2 weeks we want to see projects that are summer or winter.

I took this opportunity to get going on my Christmas cards.  We know how long they can take when the "good list" is long.  Last year I got started early and a Christmas Elf hid them from me.  To this day I'm still missing 10 cards from last year.  It must have been a great hiding place.

Here's a cute little snowball sledding.  The stamp is from Unity called Snow Much Fun (snowpeep Charlie)  I colored the image with my color pencils and tried to keep it very simple.  I added some snowdrift die-cuts and put some glitter on top of them.

Here's the inside.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

I hope to see you in the challenge!

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog #57 It's A Triple Play

I want to thank everyone for their kind and sweet comments from the Blog Hop!  I've been working hard on my coloring skills and it really means a lot to me that SO many of you have noticed.  Thank you :o)

We have another great challenge for you at Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.  For the next 2 weeks we want to see triplets in your embellishments.  That means use 3 of any type of embellishment, 3 buttons, 3 brads, 3 flowers, 3 gems...etc.  Remember we want to see some stamping, either rubber and/or digital.

We have 3 wonderful sponsors for this challenge.

The winner will receive 4 images of choice.

The winner will receive a $7 gift certificate.

The winner will receive 7 images of choice.

Thank you sponsors :o)

For this challenge I worked with the set Summer Boys by Pickled Potpourri.  Since there were 4 images to this set I created a card with each image.

Here is a cute little baseball boy.  I colored him with my color pencils.  For this challenge, I used 3 baseball type buttons.  (I did decorate the inside of my cards, but I didn't want this blog to be overly blogged down with pics.  I just don't feel like the card is finish unless the inside is done too.)  The sentiment is from MFT Baseball Boy.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenge:

Next, is this cute little guy in the tire swing.  The image was fussy cut out so I could hang him from this tree image I had.  The sentiment, tree and grass was from the stamp set MFT Let's Hang Out.  I sponged the sky and colored the images with my color pencils.  I used 3 corner tabs for this challenge.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Here's a cute little swimmer.  I fussy cut this little guy out and put him on some waves.  I used 3 brads for this challenge.  The sentiment is from MFT Surf's up VIP Collections.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

I put this guy last, because he might not be actually what the challenge is all about, but I didn't want to break up the set.  Colored with my pencils again.  I saw this image where others colored like they were playing in the water, but the holding in the hand part got me.  It had to be mud, because that's what boys do :o)  He also has a cute frog friend playing with him.  I used mica around the card to look like mud splats.  I used 3 different embellishments and that's why I feel it really doesn't go with the challenge, but the image is part of this set.

I hope to see you in the challenge!
