Dr Digi: Life's a Beach

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here today with my Dr Digi post.  I don't know about you, but I'm ready for summer to be here.

I created a card using Beach Bum Bob.  Looks like Bob took vacation and decided not to come back to life of reality.  The image is colored with my Prismacolor pencils, with a sponged sky background.  I did use a little of Dr Digi's New Wave backing paper, that I had left over from another project.

Here's the inside.

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog #107: Time Will Explain

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here today with a mid-month inspiration post from Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog.  Our wonderful sponsor Blank Page Muse has some amazing stamps to work with.  I found that some are pretty awesome for Mixed Media projects.

Prize: $25 gift certificate

This time I created a mixed media tag.  I used a couple of stencils and Blank Page Muse stamps, Words by Jane & Art Journaling #2.  A few distress inks and a black pad ink were used.

I noticed that the inks bleed through the tag (which were freebies when I ordered from a company), decided to ink up another tag to glue to back of the first.  I used a couple more of Blank Page Muse stamps, Inhale...Exhale Art & Words By Jane.

Here's a closer look at the metal pieces and button.

Lacy Sunshine: Daisy Buggmee

Hello crafty friends!  I'm happy to share this cute image Daisy Love Buggmee from Lacy Sunshine.

I created this card for my DT individual post for Lacy Sunshine.  It's such an adorable and sweet image.  Spring is just around the corner and this image screams Spring.  I colored her up with my Prismacolor pencils.  The little charm hanging says Believe, I guess every girl wants to believe in fairies. Just believe it or not, the purple base paper, the name of it is Fairytale...perfect.

Dr Digi: Hoppy Day

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here today with my Dr Digi post.  This time change is kicking my butt, but it didn't help when my oldest son called at 5am to come and pick him up after his spare tire decided to slip off his rim and drive him to work this week.  UGH!

I'm trying to coop with the time change by coloring up some cute critters from Dr Digi.

This adorable image from Dr Digi is Cuddly Critter Rabbit.  I colored him with my Prismacolor pencils.  I also used Dr Digi Fresh Eggs backing paper, because every"bunny" is getting ready for Easter.  The sentiment is from a Stampendous stamp set, that a creative secret friend sent to me for my bday last year.

Here's the inside.

Dr Digi: Alpaca Your Bags

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here today with my Dr Digi post.

I know there's a difference between llamas and alpacas, but they do look a lot alike.  So, I decided to use Alice the Alpaca to create a card with a fun pun.  Just smile, even if it's a bad joke :o)  The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and my hand was killing me after coloring that wavy hair.

Our wonderful sponsor is Blank Page Muse  and the winner will receive $25 gift certificate for the store.

This card was created using 3 of  Blank Page Muse stamps: Fairytale Fantasy, Flower Bird Sketches and Fancy Curls & Flowers Flourish.  The image was colored with my Prismacolor pencils.  Even though it's hard to see, the Fancy Curls & Flowers Flourish is stamped all around the edge of the card (I thought black ink wouldn't look right).

Mix It Up! Challenge Blog #11: Steampunk Mixed Media

Hello crafty friends!  This is my 3 post day, so enjoy the inspiration today.

This post is for Mix It Up! Challenge Blog, this month is Anything Goes + optional Making Your Own Background.

Here's my project for this challenge.  This is a Mixed Media class offered by Kit and Clowder and this is one of 3 projects you get to created.  You can use any image and product you have in your stash.  I did use the class image, because I already had it and I love this image from Saturated Canary, Krista Smith (even though you only use a portion of the image).  I did order the kit offered by Kit and Clowder, because it had the chipboard, flowers and some of the embellishments needed for the projects (this also keeps you for over buying embellishments).

To create my background, I just use some stencils and molding paste.  I used 3 different stencils for this project.  The canvas is only 5x7, which seems small, but it really worked.

This is my background after spraying with inks, embossing powder and some paint.  I didn't have alcohol spray inks, but I found some small spray bottles for inks.  (You can see the little bottles in the pic below).  All the embellishments had to be painted and sprayed too.

Here are a few of the products I used to create my mixed media canvas.

This is the portion of the image I colored with my Prismacolor pencils.  After coloring, you have to fussy cut out the image.  The one thing that wasn't mention in the class, was how to protect your image or if you really needed to.  I decided to put a UV sealant for pencils over the image.  I thought it might protect it better, especially if you decided to hang it up and proudly display.

I really enjoyed this project.  I got messy (my fingernails are still inked, at least my skin finally came clean) and finally got to use some things in my stash.  There were a few things I wasn't sure what to do with in my stash, like the micro beads that came in the glitter pack.  After taking this class, I think a few more items will be used a lot more.  Sometimes you just need some guidance and be willing to push yourself to learn new things.

This card was created for a cute little boy!  A friend of mine has 3 girls, since I have 4 boys, we are both like 2nd moms to each others kids.  This is for my grandson from my daughter from another mother...lol.  He loves monkeys, so this cute image from Bugaboo was perfect.  I colored these guys with my Prismacolor pencils.
