LTCCB #92: Strange Plants

Hello Crafty Friends!  Spring is here and the flowers and plants are starting to look beautiful. I decided to share some of my plants .... they are a little different.

This is my post for LTCCB, Anything Crafty Goes

They are different because they are felt knitting plants.  I have shared some of my past felt knitting projects, now something fun and different.  My boys got me this kit and it's enough to make several funny plants. I'm sharing the two they ask me to make....so far.

This one is a little goofy.  I love the teeth and horn on this one. Different type of cactus, I'm sure he is harmless.

A little surprise in the pot, like Harry Potter.  I like how you have to pull the plant out to see the character and it's a cutie.  The kit came with 3 little clay pots and many different designs, but they really want you to create a plant of your own.  If you haven't tried felt knitting, you really should give it a try.

LTCCB #91: Wooden Lily Flower

Hello Crafty Friends :o)  Lots of pictures in this post, so grab some hot tea and enjoy.

This post is for Love to Craft, Anything Crafty is what we are looking for.

This is a wooden lily, starburst lily, one of my favorite flowers.

My son and I picked up some kits from our bookstore to try out and see how easy they were.  All pieces are made of sturdy wood, except for a few heavy cardstock pieces that had to be folded.
Me being me... I couldn't just put the pieces together without coloring, inking and making it my own.  I didn't use the yellow stickers for the stamens, the stickers just stood out too much. The color pencils came out and yes, you can color on wood.
Inking the wooden edges helped with the pieces blending together. You can also see the leaves I colored and made veins into the leaves to make them look realistic.
These pieces can replace the bee if you wanted something different.
These is how they came...plain.
Coloring the pieces made it vibrate and my own piece of work.

Thanks for looking and reading :o)

LTCCB #90: Holy Hot Flash 60th

Happy New Year Crafty Fiends!!  Wishing all a wonderful happy, healthy and relaxed new year.

Here's my post for LTCCB, Anything crafty goes.

If you haven't looked at Unity Stamps for awhile, maybe you should.  I'm in love with this new line of Pissy Kitty, this stamp is Fan Club Pissy Kitty colored with my prismacolor pencils. Us older women have a built in heater that even a fan can't handle .... making this card was fun for a dear one.

Here's the inside.  Thanks for looking and reading :o)

LTCCB#88: Hello Sunflowers

 Hello Crafty Friends,

As summer comes to end, it's time for some Fall flowers.

This is from the 2019 Kit and Clowder coloring class (yes, I'm that behind with doing some of my classes, but I will get there....some day).  Alyce drew the image herself and teaching how to color it, which was done with prismacolor pencils.  Just add bees ... it's ready to go.

Here's the inside.

LTCCB #87: Hello New Neighbor

Hello Crafty Friends!  July is here like a lion breathing hot fire on us .... It is HOT!  Hopefully you are staying cool by crafting a little.

This is my post for LTCCB, Anything Crafty Goes.

Remember the days when you had to score out your paper just right to create these foldable box cards?  MFT has made it so simple now with using die-cuts. Best way to use up some scrap papers too. The houses are from another die-cut company.

I made this card for our new neighbors.

LTCCB #85: Flowers in a Box

Hello Crafty Friends :o)  Spring is just around the corner....let's start the new month with inspiration from the LTCCB crafty team.

This is a birthday card using Lori Whitlock SVG file, 3D Envelope Box Flowers.  These SVG files have made it very easy to craft in a day and it's still beautiful. Don't let the name of the file fool you, it does not lay flat for and envelope, it's a box.

Here's some details I added to the flowers and leaves, either with color pencils or inks.

LTCCB #84: Felt Knitted Gnome

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy New Year !!  Another fabulous year to make happy changes in our lives.

Here's my post for LTCCB Anything Crafty Goes.

My son was working on a project for his girlfriend and needed a little felt needle work for some details.  There are a lot of crafts out there, but I never heard of Felt Needle Knitting.  While at the store, I bought a little kit to try this new craft out.  I didn't like the colors in the kit, so I picked up a package a wool with many colors to choose from. I made my gnome friend.

Now I'm addicted to this new little hobby.  I don't know if it's the stabbing or challenge of taking some wool and making a creation out of it, but I'm enjoying.  My kids bought me a advent calendar of a scene to build ... all felt knitting.

Love to Craft Challenge Blog #82: Fall is for Apples

Hello crafty friends :o)  Welcome to new inspiration with a new challenge at LTCCB, Anything Crafty is Welcome.

This cute image is from All Dressed Up, called Apple Picker; colored with my Prismacolor pencils. The images are very cute from this artist.  I had to have the checker paper with this card, little picnic thought was going through my mind. For the most part, I kept this card very simple.

Here's the inside.

Love to Craft Challenge Blog #81: Congrats Grad

Hello Crafty Friends :o)  Hopefully you are able to enjoy some sunshine and good weather wherever you are.  This post is for LTCCB, anything crafty is wanted.

This card was made for my red headed step child twice removed from another mother... the neighbor kid that used to live here almost every weekend.  He is off to college and I'm not sure if him or his mother is having the hardest time with him leaving the nest.  This is a SVG file from Lori Whitlock, Curved Pop-Up Card Graduation.  I'm not one to cut and just put together.  I did ink up the edges, but also used my color pencils to make the books have pages and the scroll to look more 3D.

Here is the side view of the pop -up curved.  There were panels to put on the back to write a message to the graduate.

Love to Craft Challenge Blog #80: Lost Boats

Hello crafty friends.  Welcome to Spring and allergies.

This post is for LTCCB, anything crafty goes.  Please check out the sisters blogs for more inspiration.

This hanger was made as a birthday gift for a nature lover and someone that likes boats.  Out of all the images I have, for some reason this one popped in my head as one that needed to be done.  The image is called In the Harbour by Delicious Doodles (which I believe is no longer in business). The metal hanger I found at Hobby Lobby ... I think.

I colored the image with my prismacolored pencils.  Some of the projects I make will get an UV sealant applied to protect against sunlight.  This is one of those projects.

A layer of gesso went on the metal hanger before painting.  It was difficult, but I tried to match most of the paints to the color pencils... even though in the pics it doesn't seem that way.  It's hard to say this as a crafter, I didn't want to go out and BUY paint to match, so I mixed paints to get the colors I wanted.  Shame on me, but I'm trying very hard to use what I have in stock.

The two metal sentiments I thought were perfect for this project and for the person it was given to.  Sometimes we need a little reminder that we need to do things for ourselves to be happy and healthy.

Love to Craft! Challenge Blog #78: Heaven Cardinals Visiting

Hello and Happy New Year Crafty Friends!!!

This post is for Love to Craft Challenge Blog, Anything crafty goes.  Please check out all the sisters blog for some great inspiration.

Sometimes people ask you to craft things they have seen and it's up to the "crafty" person to craft up something they see in the head, make it come to life.  This is a wooden 3" circle with 2 stamps the I colored with my color pencils.

I stamped the cardinal first.  Then use a masked stamp to cover it up to overlay the second stamp.

The second stamp was a branch for him to sit on.

On the back, I hand painted the sentiment that she wanted.  Leather cord was used to finish it off.

When I was looking through the internet for a cardinal stamp, I found the company that she saw this inspiration project.  (kendrick home)

Love to Craft Challenge Blog #76: Open Wide Tag

Hello Crafty Friends!  Now that the kids are back into school, the rest of the year will fly by, but sit down, relax, and get inspired, because all the sister blogs are live today.

This post is for Love to Craft Challenge Blog where anything crafty goes.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who has collected tons of Tim Holtz stuff just because it was cool or different.  Maybe hoping it will inspire us.  I decided to pull out some of the packages and rummage through them to see what crafty ideas came to my head.  Here is it... a tag.  A little bit of this and that, just to get my fingers messy.  Always an excuse to get the sewing machine out again.

thanks for reading and looking :o)

Bubble Unique Bunny: LTCCB #75

Hello Crafty Friends!  Welcome summer :o)

This post is for Love to Craft! Challenge Blog, Anything crafty goes.

My 3rd son graduated from Junior College and two weeks later graduated from High School as Salutatorian.  He had an amazing advisor to guide him through junior college for his last two years of what was suppose to be high school. When he finally made his decision where to finish his college degree, his advisor and her husband took us on a private campus tour.

We decided she needed some gifts to relax this summer and a big thank you. Along with this canvas bag full of facial goodies, we also got her a plant (that she promised not to kill) and some chocolate.  I stamped on the bag and colored it with color pencils.

Spring Flowers: LTCCB#73

 Hello Crafty Friends.

A little different post for my Love to Craft! Challenge Blog where anything crafty is allowed.

This is a flower bulb centerpiece.  I found a local flower farm near my home, Five Blossoms Farm and have done a couple workshops; the first one being a live wreath for Christmas workshop.  At this workshop, we learned how to force bulbs and take care of our centerpiece.   The bulbs can be planted in ground to enjoy for years to come.

These flowers were available for our centerpieces.  Some were grown in the greenhouse and some from the flower field.

These flowers in the bucket were from the field, which took volunteers to help plant the over 10k of bulbs one cold Saturday in December.

Make sure you have a drainage hole on the bottom.  Add a little bit of moss on the bottom and fill with good potting soil.  Carefully lift the flowers from the soil with bulb and arrange in your container.  Fill with more soil.

Top it off with some moss to make it pretty.  When the flowers are spent, cut off the flowers, but leave the green attached, this will make sure you have a bloom for next year.  The hyacinths smell amazing right now.

These flowers were from the field.  They pull up the bulbs when gathering the flowers, because they last longer  then if you were to cut then, like this arrangement in the glass.  It was interesting to learn about this farm and the amazing couple that run it.
