Dr Digi: Humbug Christmas

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here today with my Dr Digi post.  It's Christmas in July!  I am positive there are stores setting up for Christmas already.  UGH!

I bring you Holly Jolly Horace, he really doesn't want to be reminded that Christmas is just around the corner.  The image is colored with my Prismacolor pencils.

Mix It Up! Challenge Blog #15: Dino-mite

Hello crafty friends!  It's a new month and lots of new challenges begin.  Today is my 3 sister challenge posts. 

This is my post for Mix It Up! Challenge Blog, this month is about "Mixed Media".  So, mix it up and show us your creations.

I create a mixed media canvas using Polkadoodles image, Sticks & Bones Dinosaur T Rex.  This is the last canvas I needed to make for some cousins.  The dino was colored with my Prismacolor pencils.  Each and every scale was hand drawn into the image as I colored.   The volcano was a pre-colored image in the collection set, that I brushed some darker inks on top.  The canvas was sprayed with distressed and alcohol inks...they didn't want to play well this time.  I don't know if it was the colors, but I had to put a sealant on top so it would quit rubbing off. 

You can see the stencil for the bottom, that I just sprayed over.  The top I used my fingers to add texture and a little volcano action.  The sentiment is also from the collection.

Love to Craft! Challenge Blog #24: Elfy Christmas

Hello crafty friends!  Please don't be mad, because Christmas will be here faster than you know it and cards need to be started.  I hate to think about Christmas just being right around the corner, but it is and I don't want to be running around trying to finish up cards at the last minute.

This is my post for Love to Craft! Challenge Blog, it's always "Anything Goes".

This fun image is from Bloobel, which she is sadly closed her doors on June 30th.  Meet Christmas Ball Billy, he was colored with my Prismacolor pencils.  Just kept the design very simple to focus on the funny image.

Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog #111: Supercalifragilistic

Hello crafty friends!  This is my first of 3 posts today, it's the sister blog posts day.

This is my Love to Scrap! Challenge Blog #111 " Anything Goes".  We have a wonderful sponsor and that means one lucky crafty person will win a great prize.

This past week, a friend's son (29 years old) ended up in the hospital with chest pains.  After a few days of testing they found out he has Leukemia and had to start chemo right away.  I found this cute stamp set, with lots of great sentiments.  I realized I could make several of these cards in a rainbow of colors for all the love ones I know going through this right now.  You need to check out this stamp set called Supercalifragilistic from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps.  The background is just smooshed ink.

Dr Digi: Cake and Booze Day

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here today with my Dr Digi post.  I decided to finally create my first pop-up card box.

I found that many template were quite on the small side.  So, after playing around a little, I created a pop-up card that is a size I liked, 5x5 1/4 when folded up.  Close enough to what I was aiming for, I'll probably play around again and see if I can get it bigger...lol.

The main image on this card is Metal Mick from Dr Digi. The 3 guitars in the background are also Dr Digi images.  Each guitar is about 1" in height and was printed and colored twice.  This way when looking from the back, it's the same as the front (I just don't like unfinished backs).

I never know where you are suppose to put sentiments on some of these fancy cards, so I made a pocket for one.  The little silver circle paper you see behind the tag, is completely around the bottom of the box.

Both sentiments are from Dr Digi's Birthday Sentiments Sheet.  This was pretty easy to create and fun.

Lacy Sunshine: Summertime

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here today with my Lacy Sunshine inspirational post.

I love me some flowers and couldn't resist having another Sunshine image with flowers in it.  This is Rory's Black Eyed Susans by Lacy Sunshine artist Heather Valentin.  I colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils and sponged the sky with some inks.  It's hard to find Black Eyed Susan stuff, so, I got some sunflowers and tried to make them look like Susan's has much as possible.  Even the little heart background paper, sunflowers peeking through the hearts.  Just love this little girls and flowers!

Lacy Sunshine: Geisha Romantique

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here with my Lacy Sunshine creation for the new challenge over at Facebook.

This beauty was created using the new Fluttering Blossom Geisha Romantique image from Lacy Sunshine artist Heather Valentin. The image was colored with my Prismacolor pencils.  I had a stamp with Japanese writing on it, that I used for the little yellow tag sticking out.  Then, it was off to Etsy to find the right paper I needed for this card.

Dr Digi: Beach Birthday

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here with my Dr Digi post today.  I decided to only post every other week during the summer, with running the kids to camps and whatever else might come up.  Not that I'm not already insane, but just trying to keep up with DT work during the summer can be insane...lol.

I made this cute birthday card using SeaSide Sidney from Dr Digi.  The image is colored with my Prismacolor pencils.  The background is brushed ink.  The banners are from Polkadoodles and I thought were a great match with this image.  When my older boys were in Cubscouts, I was a certified leader, so I used my skills in tying up some sea knots on the charm (I know it's hard to see from this angle).

Mix It Up! Challenge Blog #14: Smooshing

Hello crafty friends!  This is my last post for the day, make sure you check out the other 3.  Mix It Up! Challenge Blog #14 is about "Smooshing".  I love learning these techniques and absolutely LOVED this one.  If you have never tried smooshing, it's easy and fun.

This is the simple card I made for the smooshing challenge.  I did tried on a few scrap pieces of paper first, just to make sure I got the print I wanted.  Just dab some ink colors on some acetate paper and spritz with water.  You can let them roll into the other colors and spread around.  Then you smoosh the acetate paper to the cardstock, viola.  If there is still some ink left on the acetate, you can re-dab where you want.
