Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog #22: Santa's Hat

Hello crafty friends!  This is my post for Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog, where Christmas projects are welcome all year.

Here's a simple and cute cutting file from The Cutting Cafe.  This file Santa's Hat is just cute as can be and it does come with it's own sentiments, but I used a stamp I had.  Some soft ink around the white edges and frant-age for texture.  I little baker's twine as an accent.

Just a peek of the inside.

thanks for looking and reading :o)

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Love to Craft Challenge Blog #46: Mixed Media Bird Tag

Hello crafty friends!   This is my post for Love to Craft Challenge Blog,  every month is Anything Goes.   We want to see what you have been crafting.

The image Birds Hair from artist Julia Spiri was color with my Prismacolor pencils.  I decided to make a mixed media tag.  Paint, scrap paper, tissue, sewing maching stitching, ink, gold & purple paint, cheese cloth:  just for the background.  After the sewing the stitches, I couldn't stand looking at the back of the tag, so I fixed it .

I did the same technique with a new tag to place over the back of the front tag, but without the stitching.  This little wooden bird has been sitting in my craft closet for awhile, some gesso paint, ink and gold paint to tie it into the project.

I would like to enter this tag in the following challenges:

embellishments: paints, inks, embossing powder, cheesecloth, wooden bird,  the Paper Studios: flowers

Hello crafty friends !!   I can't believe we are all still grounded.  Things have been different, the kids think they are on extended summer vacation and computer times have to be scheduled ( the dogs get a better scheduled time than me and they are ahead of the cats just wanting to sit on the keyboards).

I'm still playing and learning how to work my Scan n Cut.  Found this cut file from The Cutting Cafe called Typewriter Shape Card

They have sentiments that come with the file, but I wanted to use my own stamps.   I have a stock pile of stamps needing to used.

Here is a birthday card for any male species living in your home.  The image Birthday Bot was colored with my Prismacolor pencils. Not happy with the lighting, but it was getting dark.

I used metal gears and wire to give it a robot feel.  The fan-tage even has a metal look.

Love to Craft Challenge Blog #45: Sewing Sweetness

Hello crafty friends!  I'm finally get some good use out of my Brother Scan and Cut and using files I got years ago before I even had a machine.

This project is for Love to Craft Challenge Blog, where every month is Anything Goes.

This cutting file came from The Cutting Cafe, Sewing Machine Set.  It is a set, a gift box, a card and some extra little things as gifts.

First, I made the gift box.  Even though I used the kraft paper to make the box, I add an extra layer with the design paper.. This made the box extra sturdy.   Instead of gluing two pieces together, I used the card fold layout, then glued the two pieces to the outside of the card...worked perfectly.

There's plenty of place to add goodies.  The set has spools you can make to gift ribbon or other crafty items.

I bought these tiny little spools, just because they were cute.  I used different twine and thread to wrap around them.

Finally, this is the card.  The layers build upon each other.  I even did the back of the card to make it more complete.

Here's the inside.

thanks for looking and reading :o)  please stay safe.

stamps: The Cutting Cafe: Sewing Machine Set
paper: Recollections, Bazzill, the Paper Studio
