Teapot Tuesday-Christmas Tickle

I'm a little late this week, this thing called life kinda of got in the way.  In fact, my card has been done, just haven't had time to take a picture and upload it.  Anyway, this week's Teapot challenge is to start a fellow teapotter on their Christmas stash and to bring a critter along.  Sounds easy enough.

My critter is the bird.  I used a stamp from Unity KOM.  Of course, watercolor pencils are the best.  Some Stickles for a little snow sparkle.  Since I needed more cards for my Christmas stash, I made 10 more.
Since I used a Unity stamp, I'll probably enter this card in the Friends with Flair on Friday (if I don't have time to make another card).

Stamps Used: Unity KOM-Nov 2011(Take Your Time), Unity KOM-Sept 2011 (All Seasons) for the outside sentiment

Paper Used:  SU for all

Embellishments: Stickles, Ribbon-Coastal Living from Michael's, Brad-Spare Parts-The Paper Studio

MFT #86 Sketch Challenge

I was the random winner of last week's sketch !!  WHOOHOO!!  Of course the $20 gift certificate was spent fast.  We also survived the first week of homeschool, 7 yo with severe allergic reaction to something that bit him, and the 16 yo driving us to town.  What a week!!  Let's get to this week's sketch of MFT Sketch Challenge.

Here's my take on this sketch.  I thought I better get some birthday cards in stock again.

It was time to ink up my PI Birthday Girl stamp finally.  I paper pierced her dress, added stitching to the scallop bottom with some burlap twine from Ribbon Carousel, a little bling, and lots of layers of paper.

Here's what I used to create this card.

Stamps Used: MFT-PI Birthday Girl, Stamping Bella-Maisy's Crowns

Paper Used: Bazzill-Pinkini and Pomegrante, SU-Black, Bo-Bunny-Crush Dots, MME- Market Paper Pad & Dots&Princess Paper Pad

Die Cuts: MFT-Wonky Scallop

Embellishments: Recollections-Rhinestones, Stickles, Perfect Pearls Mist, Red Jute Burlap Twine from Ribbon Carousel

Unity is having a very important sale to help Stamp Out Cancer, read Unity's blog about this sale.  They are still having their Friends with Flair Challenge to see what the customers are creating with their Unity stamps.  Today I created a card to send prayers and thoughts to a family member going through a rough time.

I used the Growing with Unity Stamp set.  I just want them to know we are thinking about them.

Thanks for looking and reading :o)

Teapot Tuesday - Soda Jerk

This week's Teapot Tuesday was a tall order from 11 year old Tyler.  It will be the only card like this.  Tyler has Rhabdomyosarcoma, a childhood cancer, and has had 53 surgeries.  Bringing lots of smiles to him with strawberry shakes is all he wants.  There is also a dog, who wants to start a milkshake shop, a joke that is needed, and a framed dollar bill.  We have it all with this card.

Inspiration Teapot - Schmuddley McCuddley
looks like he is up to no good

Here's the card that took me days to create.  Once again, no stamps required!!

I hand drew the glass and colored it in, then put a glossy 3D effect to make it look like glass.  The whip-cream is a ribbon reused from a gift.  Die-cut a circle for the cherry on top, poke a string through for the stem.  The puppy is a Google image.

Some close-ups for you.

The inside of the card was created from Google images.  I wanted it to look like the inside of the soda jerk shop.  I made sure there was a joke for Tyler.  Yes, it's a corny joke, but hopefully it will make him smile.  It's not the best photo, I was losing sun time and it was cloudy.  Sorry about that, but school comes first now.  This was a creative challenge and I enjoyed creating this card for Tyler.

Stamps Used: NONE

Die-Cuts:  MFT-Jumbo Scallop, MFT-Circle Stax 1, MFT-By the Letters

Paper Used: Brick-Discounted Paper, Inside K&Company Lovely Series, scraps for rest

MFT #85 Sketchy

I wanted to wait to make this week's Wednesday sketch, until after my birthday.  I knew my wonderful husband somehow got a link emailed to him with a wish list for MFT.  I don't know how that exactly happened ;o)  It was a special milestone birthday this year.  Hello Fabulous 40s !!  I also wanted to share the card my cute little 7 year old, with the help of daddy made. From what I understand Ethan wanted to stamp everything.

I thought they did a great job.  It was done right before bedtime on the eve of my birthday.

This week's MFT Wednesday sketch.

So this week's sketch card I was in the fall mood.  I decided to use one of my new stamps my fabulous husband just bought me, MFT ALM Sweetest Pumpkin in the Patch.

The paper, the colors and the ribbon are screaming FALL ! Our favorite season around here.  Here's a list to create this card.

MFT Stamps: MFT-ALM Sweetest Pumpkin in the Pumpkin

Paper Used: TPC Studio-Rustic Garden Leaf Dot, the rest was scraps and discounted paper.

Ribbon: Halloween Ribbon from Michael's

Ahoy a Matey and Teapotters !!

Tuesday Teapot Challenge is for a 3 year old boy, James (to his page),  with brain and spinal tumors.  He loves pirates and dogs, so that is the challenge for this week.  Here's more info on Splitcoaststampers.  I was shocked to find out that I have no pirate stamps whatsoever.  I'm a mom of 4 boys, we have 4 nephews, but no pirate lovers.  So this challenge lead me to Google some images to create a card for James.

I thought it turned out pretty good.  I did use MFT-Catch a Wave die-cut.  All the paper was scraps from other projects, besides the black paper, which is SU.

Just a close up of someone's cute dog from the UK dressed up for Halloween I'm sure.  I took a paper hole puncher to make the gold coins.  Tore up paper for sand.  An easy card overall.

MFT #84 Sketchy Wednesday

After dentist appointments, lots of errand running and even time at the amusement park with the younger boys, I'm finally getting to MFT sketch for Wednesday.  Thank goodness it's a week long challenge. I decided to make my brother's birthday card for this challenge.  I know he won't check my blog, because he doesn't check our family website out till weeks later, so it's okay to post now.  His birthday is this Saturday, I know, because I was born two days before his first birthday.  Great gift I was !!

Let's get to the challenge.

My take on this sketch.

It's not too different.  I used the airplane PI because my brother just retired from the Navy and he worked on planes, jets and helicopters.  I stitched some twine between the airplane layer and blue layer.  Added the clouds and plane die-cuts to the side.  Put the sentiment on a cloud and sponged some ink around the edges.  I used watercolors to color in my image and sponged some ink around the image, thought it look like it was in the clouds.  Did a little doodling on the bottom blue layer.

As always, thanks for looking and reading :o)

Stamps Used: MFT-PI Plane Amazing, MFT-Birthday Girl (sentiment)

Paper: K&Company-Itsy Bitsy Baby Boy Designer Paper Pad, Coredinations-Green, Bazzill Basics-Blue & Coral

Die Cuts: MFT-You Move Me, MFT-Cloud Trio

Embellishments: MFT-Shore Twine

T's Birthday

Today is my Mother-in-law's birthday.  I can finally post her card after weeks of having it done.

"Happy Birthday T!!"

She plays tennis and has made and placed at nationals.  So, yes she is a very good tennis player.  Knowing that there is only 10% color allowed at her tennis club, her card has little color.
As you can see, lots of white card here.  The perfect tennis image to boot !!  Very simple card.

Stamps Used:  MFT-I've Met My Match, Unity-Party All Day for the sentiment

Paper: White-SU, Red was a scrap

Die Cuts: MFT-Circle Stax 1 & Circle Stax 2

Embellishment:  Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz

I want to show you a pic of the card out in the sun, because the Smooch Spritz really sparkles.

Happy Birthday T !!

All that Glamour Teapot

Another Tuesday, another card !!  The Teapotters are going to Italy and of need of a couture worthy to attend a fundraiser with George Clooney, at least that's the short of a long story of this challenge.  There was three cousins, the Price is Right, and a cruise ship somewhere in the mix.  So it's a girlie, girl card.  This card will be going to a young lady named Laura in Colorado who was hit by a train and needs some smiles. Here's the teapot for inspiration:
With a house full of boys, girlie cards can be a challenge for me, but I like to do them.  It's the only time a can get girlie in this house.  The first thing I thought about was Tiffany's, lots of bling, diamonds, pearls and all those things that go with glam and a girl.  Here's my card:
The color was Tiffany's inspired. Lots of sparkles going on behind the dress, on the dress and off to the side.  I wanted it to sparkle.  I black embossed the dress then colored it in with watercolors.  Rhinestones were added to the bottom of the dress.  I used Stickles for the top of the dress, as well as on the swirly parts of the dress.

Sometimes I don't remember to put the inside of my cards on my blog, but they too get dressed up, as well as the envelope sometimes. I put a watermark of another dress on the inside and a sentiment that I thought was appropriate for someone going through a lot right now.

What was used to make my card:
Stamps: Unity KOM May 2012 - this includes the sentiments

Paper: Recollections-Glitter, Colorbok-Antique paperie, Black was scrap

Embellishments: Rhinestones & Pearls-Recollections, Stickles

Black Embossing Powder and Watercolor Pencils were also used.

Still Getting Dirty

Today is the last day for the Splitcoatstampers Fan Challenge Week.  I decided to do another card, that can complete three more challenges.  Lucky me !!!   I went with a Christmas theme and liked it SO much, that I made 9 more to start on my Christmas cards for this year.  Believe me, it's never too early to start Christmas cards when you have a long list a family and friends you need to send to.

I liked this sketch and wanted to try it.

As you can see, I turned the sketch on a different angle.  The purple paper was discounted paper from the business closing it's door.  If I had to guess, it looks like Bazzil Basics Paper, but the color is discontinued, ever single layer of the purples, all four.  Yep, that means when I went to make 9 more and had to find substitute paper.  It's not the same rich color as this one, but it still works.   The green paper is from Stampin'Up.  Ribbon was Making Memories the Passport series.  Of course, the snowflake brad is Recollections from Michael's.  Almost forgot, the stamp image used, MFT-Pll In a Manger.  I heat embossed with black embossing powder and colored in with watercolor pencils and color pencils.

Thanks for looking and reading !! :o)

Dare to Get Dirty

image Splitcoaststampers has been having some fun challenges for members only.  Some 36 challenges.  Unless you have no kids at home and no housework, there is no way to complete ALL these challenges.  At least that's how I feel.  I still have a 21 month old that needs a mama, don't forget the 18 yo, 16 yo, 7 yo, and the 44 yo (the husband).  That's a lot of mama needing.  I'm trying hard to combine some of the challenges so I can get as many done as possible before Monday.  It's coming SLOWLY !!
The first card is three challenges into one.

the skinny sketch

We have a skinny sketch with shades of gray and masculine card all wrapped up in one.  The card size is 4x9.  Most of the paper I used was from Stampin'Up.  The photo paper the car is stamped on is paper I made awhile back with glossy photopaper and Pinata Ink, just a cool effect.  The lighter paper and sentiment paper were scraps, I have tons of scraps and think they a multiplying in the boxes. The stamp image and sentiment came from Unity KOM Feb 2012.  Brads came from Michael's Recollections collection.  Here's a list of what I used and can be found on the wed.

The second card is for the Berry Best Friends challenge.

Another Unity KOM stamps were used for this card (I think they are all sold out on the June 2012 kit).  Just so happy I finally get to use them. The Daisy Chain ribbon was from Michael's by the company Wright's.  I did a little paper piercing at the bottom.  Die-cuts from MFT, gotta love them.  The paper was ALL scraps, but I do remember the name to the dots, because I just used it recently.  It was TPC Studio, Birthday Party Dots.

Hopefully that is some creative juices for you. Thanks for looking and reading !!

Unity Challenge - I DO!

I have tons of Unity Stamps.  I get their Kit of the Month and now their weekly stamp, but never knew they had challenges.  I've been looking on Splitcoaststampers website to find challenges and never thought about looking at company blogs.  Now that I'm in the know, look out Unity Company I'm coming to the challenges!!  This month's challenges has to do with I Do!  I Do what?  Getting married.  Let's take a peek at the simple card I made for this challenge.

Just a simple white card, but the sentiment stamped in red just adds that extra punch.  Rhinestones for a little sparkle, pearls for elegance.  What was use to create this card:

Stamp Used: Unity KOM 2012

Paper Used: Bought at Michael's - Paper Company White Embossed Flowers, Recollections Handmade

Embellishments: Rhinestones-Recollections, Pearls-SU, Ribbon-reused from a gift

Ink: SU-Real Red

MFT #83

Yes, it's Wednesday again and I'm getting sketchy with MFT.  I'm not totally happy with this card, because something seems to be missing.  It will hit me about 2 am tonight, then I'll forget again by morning.  Let's take a look at the sketch:

Simple enough

This is my take on the sketch, nothing real pretty.  I might need to make a second attempt.

I've had this stamp and paper for awhile and wanted to use it.  The background paper is actually a screen print made by Hambly Screen Prints.  As you can see, it's glossy and clear.  When I purchased the stamp from MFT it was a kit and they sent Lilybeedesign little pad of paper, which I used the printed paper.  Like I said, nothing fancy about this card, just plain and simple.

Here's what I used:  A couple of things that cannot be added, the Bazzill Basic Paper-Vibrant Blue which you can purchase at Michael's, Stampin' UP paper that is no longer in season and a few scrap pieces of cardstock.  Also the Die Cuts from MFT Lead the Way was including in a VIP kit and is not available for separate purchase yet.  Thanks for looking :o)
