Norman Rockwell Christmas

Hello crafty friends!   A little extra post from me today.  My last Christmas card for the year.

This was a class from Christopher Kerry.  He drew the lines for this image and 4 more, all inspired by Norman Rockwell.  Even though I usually print class images 5x7 or even a full page to learn techniques, this little one is 3.5".  I wanted to make a card out of these images, why waste time and paper printing off big images.

By keeping my Prismacolor pencils extra sharp, I could really get some details and depth in this small image.

Here's the inside.

Dr Digi: Xmas Pud Bag

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here today with my Dr Digi post.  Christmas is finally here!!  Hopefully you got those pesty Christmas cards out of the way and mailed.  Now, it's time to focus on the last minute Christmas wrapping.

Here's a cute little bag from Dr Digi called Xmas Puds.  I cut this bag and tag out by hand, scored and taped (or you can glue the 1 flap) in less than 30 minutes.  If you have a fancy cutting machine, Dr Digi has SVG and JPG files that come with this image.

It's cute and easy.  Will fit gift card and/or small trinkets.

Let's Craft and Create: #132 Christmas

Hello crafty friends!  It's time for the mid-inspiration for Let's Craft and Create.  Tis the season, so Christmas projects we want to see.  Sadly, this will be my last post for this wonderful team.  I'm stepping down for some new adventures, but I'm seeing as, letting someone new inspire you.

It's hard to crank out a bunch of Christmas cards during the season.  I try to have half done before the holiday seasons begin, but that didn't work out this year.  This card was created using Alicia Bel's image Santa Claus Sleepyhead.  The image is colored with my Prismcolor pencils.  I try to make the design like a wrapped present.

Here's the inside.

Creatalicious #129 Antique Christmas

Hello crafty friends!  It's time for another wonderful challenge at Creatalicious, it's Anything Goes with the option Monochrome Christmas.  Sadly this will be my last challenge with Creatalicious, for I will be joining some new adventures at the beginning of the year.  Melanie and her team are sweet and wonderful to work with, I see you ladies around blogland :o)

I created a monochrome card using The Paper Shelter image December 26.   I tried to go for the sepia tones....do you know how hard it is to find the right blend with color pencils.  Yes, there is a sepia pencil, but you need depth, so different colors are needed.   After trying a few different color blends, I ended with this one.  The photo really doesn't do justice, the weather was gloomy outside.

Here's the inside.

Dr Digi: Christmas Band

Hello crafty friends!  Today is my post for Dr Digi and I'm trying to get my Christmas cards done, but time seems to be running out real fast.  I'm sure many of us are in the same boat.

Here's a card I created using X-Mas-No 1 image from Dr Digi.  The sentiment is from C.C. Designs and I drew in the music notes around it.  Music has been in my life for years and this image was a must have.  Even though none of these guys are playing a woodwind instrument, I still think they are as just cute.  The image was colored with my Prismacolor pencils.

Mix It Up! Challenge Blog #8: Flap Fold Christmas

Hello crafty friends!    I have 3 posts for you today!  Enjoy the inspiration :o)

In this post I'm sharing my card for Mix It Up! Challenge Blog, this month's challenge is all about the "Fancy Fold".

I'm not big on some "Fancy Fold" cards, mainly because I want the card to be able to stand on their own.  There are a lot of folds, that don't allow the cards to stand and I picked one of those to do for this post.  I went through my Pinterest folder of cards saved to see what I liked.  The Flap Fold card stood out and I wanted to give it a go.  There are several tutorials out there on blogland, so just watch a couple and make it your own.  The couple I watched, the punch on top was mainly off to one side, but I wanted mine in the middle.  Instead of using a punch (this is why they were off center), I used a die-cut, so I could center it.

The center punch is big enough where the tab will not hit it when opening and closing.  The snowman image from A Day For Daisies called Mr Snowman, is popped up, so it can be used as a tab to hold the front flap down (my snowman was a tad too tall, but it works).  He was also colored with Prismacolor pencils.

Here's the inside.  Hopefully you will give your cards a new fold or 2.
