MLCCB #63: Felt Knitting Christmas Land

 Hello Crafty Friends :o)

Christmas in July it is ..... This is my post for MLCCB, anything Christmas.

My boys got me an advent calendar for felt knitting and I LOVED it!!!  Taking the wool and sculpting it into little magical pieces was very mindful.

Lots of presents and some trees.

The sleigh was presents.  Some of the finer details could be difficult, but I was learning with each piece how to take small pieces of wool to make the details.
Santa was fun.  I made his hat differently and the white really fluffy.  His beard is just rolling the wool.
Just small pieces of tiny wool to make the POST letters.
Baby deer in a stocking... how cute
The house, which was the hardest part, because each wall had to be precise.

The needles are very sharp doing this felt knitting, so wear the little leather finger covers they give you in the kit and buy a few extra to protect a few more fingers.  Most kits come with 1-3 needles, but a few more, because they will break sometimes doing the simplest detail work.

MIUCB #78: Mixed Media Garden

 Hello Crafty Friends!

This post is for MIUCB, Mixed Media or anything crafty goes.  I love doing mixed media crafts, just because it's fun getting messy and just letting the mind be creative.

This is the finish project.

I started with painting the canvas with some different types of paints and then fixing tissue paper over the top.

The butterfly was a wooden embellishment that had been embossed and heavy glitter stones.  The flowers are metal, just make sure put a base coat of gesso paint down, then drop some ink to fill them.
Part of the thinking process ....
The finally project once again.

LTCCB #87: Hello New Neighbor

Hello Crafty Friends!  July is here like a lion breathing hot fire on us .... It is HOT!  Hopefully you are staying cool by crafting a little.

This is my post for LTCCB, Anything Crafty Goes.

Remember the days when you had to score out your paper just right to create these foldable box cards?  MFT has made it so simple now with using die-cuts. Best way to use up some scrap papers too. The houses are from another die-cut company.

I made this card for our new neighbors.

LTSCB #174: Pissy Party

Hello Crafty Friends!!   Can't believe we are already halfway through with the year and the summer is HOT!!

I'm here with my post for LTSCB, Anything Goes.  Please join us.

I know I have a lot of stamps, but we crafters never talk about our hoarding issues. These new stamps from Unity have been catching my eyes for awhile and I finally broke down and bought me a few in the new Pissy collection.  Knowing my chiropractor has a great sense of humor, I colored up this stamp (Pissy Party) with my Prismacolor pencils.

Here's the inside ... which he laughed and thought it was perfect.

MLCCB #62: Christmas Dogs and Cats

Hello Crafty Friends :o)   I'm sure many of you are working on your Christmas projects, always nice to have a great start.  If you are one that doesn't wait until the last minute, make sure to join us at MLCCB, where it's Christmas year around.

Keeping the design very simple because I wanted the paper my son picked out to really be the focal point of this card.  A stamped sentiment with coordinated die was all that was needed, maybe a snowflake brad.

Here's the inside.

Hello Crafty Friends :o)  Welcome to another great challenge over at MIUCB, our new challenge is Paper Piecing or Anything Goes.

I decided to make a birthday tag, where the cake was stamped several times, then piece together,  This also gives a great layer look.

This is how many layers I decided was best to get the right layers.

On the backside.

MUICB #76: Bag of Flowers

Hello Crafty Friends!  I just realized I never posted my project for MIUCB, real life complications.

The new challenge is for Layers.

I did a gift bag using tissue paper from Tim Holtz and decided it had to have color.  Very carefully I colored it with my prismacolor pencils.  Who doesn't have scrap paper hanging around that needs to be used and maybe pieces of embellishment scraps.

Using decoupage on the burlap to adhere the tissue paper is the best route, I thought brushing it on the tissue would either tear it or make the colors bleed.

• paper: Tim Holtz: collage paper serendipity, scraps
• embellishments: Tim Holtz: number strips, Ashland: moss, Bead Landing: gems, gauze, staples, burlap, butterfly

LTCCB #85: Flowers in a Box

Hello Crafty Friends :o)  Spring is just around the corner....let's start the new month with inspiration from the LTCCB crafty team.

This is a birthday card using Lori Whitlock SVG file, 3D Envelope Box Flowers.  These SVG files have made it very easy to craft in a day and it's still beautiful. Don't let the name of the file fool you, it does not lay flat for and envelope, it's a box.

Here's some details I added to the flowers and leaves, either with color pencils or inks.

LTSCB #172: 20th Grudge Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends :o)  March is here and Mother Nature's hormones are going wild. Sit back and enjoy some time while going through the inspiration of all the sisters blog.

This post is for LTSCB, Anything Goes always.  Please share your scrappy projects.

My son's girlfriend just jad a birthday, she like everything dark and gothic.  I used SVG file from Lori Whitlock, Box Card Birthday

I picked papers that I thought she might like and decided not to do the banners from the svg file.  Instead, I die cutted #20, to signified her 20th birthday. Took my color pencils to add some details to the bow.
Here's the back, that way a message could be written.

Folds nice and neatly into the envelope.

paper: Recllections, Soto Studios Paper

MLCCB #60: Christmas Lights

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy New Year of 2025 !!  In this new year make sure you make time for yourself, everyone needs "me" time.  Mindfulness and Meditation equals a calm soul.

Here's my post for MLCCB Anything Christmas Goes.

A couple years ago I did a svg file of these Christmas lights for a project, these were left over staring at me.  They were a perfect fit to make a card. Stamped a sentiment that seemed fitting to the design.

LTSCB #171 Anything Goes: Cute Pets Bookmark

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy New Year!! These years are going by so fast... Just breathe and always remember to make time for yourself.

Here's my post for for LTSCB Anything Goes.

This cute stamp set is from Sugar Pea Designs called Sprout Bloom Grow. Each layer of the animals were stamped and fussy cut out, or course I had to color them a little to add even more dimension. A little sewing, because the sewing machine needs some use.

The bookmark die cut is from My Favorite Things.  Which makes it very easy to make bookmarks.

LTCCB #84: Felt Knitted Gnome

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy New Year !!  Another fabulous year to make happy changes in our lives.

Here's my post for LTCCB Anything Crafty Goes.

My son was working on a project for his girlfriend and needed a little felt needle work for some details.  There are a lot of crafts out there, but I never heard of Felt Needle Knitting.  While at the store, I bought a little kit to try this new craft out.  I didn't like the colors in the kit, so I picked up a package a wool with many colors to choose from. I made my gnome friend.

Now I'm addicted to this new little hobby.  I don't know if it's the stabbing or challenge of taking some wool and making a creation out of it, but I'm enjoying.  My kids bought me a advent calendar of a scene to build ... all felt knitting.
